Carey Island, Selangor, presents a living landscape of oil palm agriculture, indigenous livelihoods, and mangrove ecosystems.
This study tour provides direct engagement with RSPO-certified independent smallholders under the Wild Asia Group Scheme (WAGS), while exploring regenerative agriculture through our WAGS BIO model.

Environmental & Landscape Context
Carey Island forms part of a broader mangrove ecosystem mosaic of national significance. These ecosystems provide coastal protection, nursery habitats for fisheries, flood mitigation, and biodiversity refuge for species such as the Sunda Pangolin, Silvered Leaf Monkey, and mangrove-dependent bird species.
