Wild Asia’s Sustainable Palm Oil Journeys is an annual study tour to visit independent palm oil producers, to understand how the flow of product moves from farm to the palm oil mill, and to visit farms that have been on a journey towards regenerative agriculture.
The study tour is a good opportunity to interact with the Wild Asia team and to see the big picture of promoting sustainable agriculture in palm oil. A key feature of our study tour is the opportunity for participants to get an insight into our efforts to organise and support small producers to meet RSPO certification standards, and to implement regenerative agriculture practices through on-farm demonstrations and interactive sessions.
The study tour is designed for anyone who is part of the palm oil value chain – from the end-product manufacturers and ingredient manufacturers to palm oil processors or those who are keen to learn more about sustainable oil palm.
“The way how the tour has been set up where we’ve just not seen an isolated plantation but how that connects with the wider community and the whole global commodities supply chain, and seeing how it fit into people’s lives as a daily commodity has been fascinating.” – Jessica Aldred, Special Projects Editor, China Dialogue
